Doublé de Sebo – C’est bon!

Filip Sebo started the second consecutive match for FC Valenciennes and he thanked the manager for his faith by scoring two goals against Caen this Saturday. Fila hit the net in Ligue 1 for the first time after being sent on loan to France, as his previous goal which he added to his tally was in the Coupe de la ligue.

This time, Sebo was partnered by Steve Savidan and Gregory Pujol had to deal with a place on the bench. Savidan, being a legend at Valenciennes and having scored more than 50 goals for the club started alongside Sebo for the first time after his arrival to the club. It turned out to be a good choice and it wasn´t the club´s best goalscorer but the Slovakian who opened the scoring in the 15th minute by tapping in a deflected shot.

This being Sebo´s first one at Stade Nungesser in the French league, it seemed that the player´s confidence grew and before the first half was over Valencienne´s number 29 added a second one to put the home team ahead by two goals, after being released perfectly by Steve Savidan.

Belmadi and Sebo combined to good effect again in the second half and the 23-year-old was close to celebrating his hat-trick.

The former Southampton midfielder found Sebo wide on the right and he managed to squeeze a shot in from a narrow angle but to no avail.

Caen, who haven´t lost any out of their last five matches found it difficult to get back into the game after Sebo´s goals and when Savidan scored the third one in the 59th minute, everything was over for them.

Valenciennes moved to the sixth place in the league table after this match and it looks like people in France might start have been seeing the real Sebo recently.
