On his way from Munich to Maitenbeth in Germany Marek came off the road unexpectedly and crashed with his Audi into a tree. Police are still investigating on the details of the accident. However, Filip´s friend Marek did not survive.
Krejci was a former player of Artmedia Petrzalka and as a striker played together with Filip in the team that won the Slovak league just before Sebo moved to Glasgow Rangers, which followed after one season in Austria Vienna where he played in between.
“I spoke to Marek on the phone a week before this terrible thing happened. He was telling me about his holiday plans in Turkey and we wanted to arrange our “revenge” in swimming,” Filip speaking in a sad voice.
To give you a better perspective on the issue, Marek as the Artmedia player and Filip at that time as the Inter Bratislava player participated in a swimming contest in Bratislava which was organised by a Slovak sports magazine. Marek, the son of a swimming world champion, was the clear winner of the race.
He gave Filip no chance to challenge him this summer.
